Facts checked against the official pages on 18 Oct 2026.

The Supplementary Admissions Exercise for International Students (S-AEIS) is for international students seeking admission to Primary 2 to 4 and Secondary 1 to 2 in the same academic year. MOE says it typically starts in January, and that successful applicants start school in April or May.

The 2027 dates MOE has published

  • Applications for the 2027 S-AEIS open in early January 2027.
  • Tests are tentatively scheduled for the end of February or early March 2027. MOE says it will provide updates closer to the application period.

The Primary route, in order

MOE lists these steps for Primary applicants.

  1. From January 2026: take the relevant Cambridge English Qualifications (CEQ) test at a Cambridge-authorised exam centre in any country. MOE says the test must be taken 12 months before the month of the S-AEIS application. For the 2027 S-AEIS, that means from January 2026.
  2. By January 2027: receive the CEQ result. The child must meet the required Cambridge English Scale score, and the result is uploaded with the application. MOE will only consider the set of CEQ results submitted in the online application.
  3. January 2027: apply online in the Candidates Portal for the S-AEIS Primary Mathematics test.
  4. January or February 2027: receive the entry proof, if the application is approved and payment is successful.
  5. End February or early March 2027 (tentative): take the test in Singapore.
  6. April 2027: the outcome is released. Successful applicants must report to the offered school within the reporting period, or the place may be offered to others.
  7. April to May 2027: school starts.

The scores MOE's checker returns

The checker gives the Cambridge test and score by date of birth. For admission in 2027, a child born on 1 June 2019, 2018 or 2017 needs the A2 Key for Schools test, with a Cambridge English Scale score of 100 and above for the Primary 2 test, 120 and above for the Primary 3 test and 130 and above for the Primary 4 test. For a child born on 1 June 2016, the S-AEIS route is the Primary 4 Mathematics test, with the A2 Key for Schools test and a score of 130 and above.

The step that decides the timeline

MOE tells families to check, when booking the CEQ test, whether the result will be released in time for the application. A family aiming for the January 2027 window therefore has to work backwards from the result date. Admission is not guaranteed, and placement depends on available vacancies and the declared residential area where possible.

What we could not confirm

  • The exact opening and closing dates of the 2027 application window. MOE says only "early January 2027".
  • The S-AEIS fee for 2027.
  • The Secondary timeline. The page we saved shows the Primary timeline.
